1/24 A milestone reached, the website receives its 5,000th hit.

1/8 CD update page added.

9/26 The date is confirmed for a show with The Demonics from San Francisco. The show will be Sat, Nov.23rd. This'll be a good one!!

8/21 The Dragons are confirmed to play with the Vits at Harry's, Sat. Sept.28th. This could very well be the SHOW OF THE YEAR! See the SHOWS page for details.

7/19 Interview with Saundra Jade in today's Reno Gazette Journal. You can read it by clicking on the link which appears on the PRESS page.

6/9 The official word from the Vits.............
We have a new guitarist. We call her the Saunik Doll. Her name is Saundra Jade. The Doll is a great addition. She brings new dimensions with her unique style to what we are doing and as predicted, we are coming back stronger than ever! Watch for show listings later this month.

5/3 The Vits report that they have found their new guitarist. More to come later.

4/28 Dave plays his last show as a Vitriolic.    

4/10 Tonight begins the first of several auditions for that coveted guitarist spot.

3/11 Dave has announced that he is leaving the group. He will be moving to Salt Lake City after getting married later this month. He will play the remaining dates of  the winter tour before beginning his new life.He came to us a boy who wanted to play  guitar and we turned him into a man who wants to smash them. We wish him much luck and happiness. However,  life goes on and so we will soon be in the process of auditioning guitarists. Interested parties can reach us through this website.

2/25 The last tracks are completed for the CD. There is only mixing and mastering left to do.

2/1 Well, The Vits played UNR's Battle of the Bands and brought home 2nd place. To paraphrase an old commercial, we may be second and that's why we try harder. the Vits scored 8.6 while the winning band scored 8.9. Scoring was based on audience response and don't ask how you can score tenths of a point based on that. It was a lot of fun and everyone had a great time.

12/29 Mp3s from recent show at Harry's added to downloads.

12/01 Negotiations are underway to bring San Diego's THE DRAGONS to Reno. Blackie says, "These guys are phenomenal. Dean and I saw them at the Vegas Shakedown and out of the 33 bands that I saw, they were the best. They blew everyone away. I really hope we can make this happen."

10/31 Love and Rockets creator and illustrator, Gilbert Hernandez is on board and has agreed to do the cover art for the Vits' upcoming CD.

9/28 Album title revealed at The Las Vegas Shakedown.

9/1 The title of the forthcoming Vitriolics' album will be revealed at the Las Vegas Shakedown. It will premiere in the program of the event.

Gossip

Here I'll include some of the juicier stuff I hear about the band members. No guarantee of the accuracy of what you read in this column!Stay tuned for the DIRT!

4/5 at the Zephyr was an evening of the unexpected,
1. More hot tub offers
2. A male musician from a recently defunct metal band not only grabbed Dean and felt up his package but proceeded to whip out his own. When Dean let him know he wasn't interested, it only served to hurt the poor guy's feelings and he began to beg.
3. Blackie looks good in a dress. What the F*#K?

3/21 Following a performance at Harry's an attractive young lady approached one of the Vits with this proposition, "Would you like to hang out with me and my boyfriend in our hot tub after you breakdown?" The offer was declined. I think she asked the wrong Vit! Better luck next time!

11/23 at the Jazz Club was a wild night involving nudity on stage and surprise, it wasn't a member of the band! Maybe next time.

10/20 After a rousing performance at The Jazz Club, a Vit took offence to a local DJ's attitude and delivered a "bionic elbow" and a good tongue lashing. The humilitated DJ was somewhat shaken as he mounted his bicycle with records in tow. I know who is number one on his hit list. Do you? The answer might surprise you, and then again, maybe not.

9/29 Following the Dragons show, the party moved over to the Spice House (strip club) where a Vit was accosted by a strange man with an oral fixation. Luckily a young lady came to the rescue and whisked the befuddled musician out of harms way.

8/30 A Vit checked a young lady's oil in the Zephyr parking lot. The interesting thing is that she was on foot.

8/16 Following a ground-breaking performance at San Francisco's Edinburgh Castle, an Ice-T fueled Vit was seen attempting back bends while exclaiming, "Spot me. Spot me!" and scaring the hell out of other band members.

7/12 A Vitriolic was seen throwing off clothes and diving into the pool at the Atomiks' show hosted by the Sands hotel. Wet & Wild!

5/24 The Vits were spotted in a local sushi bar. This in itself is not newsworthy. I happen to know that they are very fond of sushi and there have been other reports of sushi dinners in the past.What makes this particular incident interesting is the fact that they were accompanied by the mysterious "Doll" from the Zephyr.
 

5/3 The Vits show up unannounced at the Zephyr. The  remaining members sat in on a song with MAMA'S TRIPPIN' who were rocking the house. The question on everyone's mind was, who was that "doll" that the 3 seemed so interested in ?

1/2 Well it seems that the "Vitriolic Contingent" has won out and the Vits will be appearing in the UNR show. Was there ever any doubt? More details as they become available.

12/28 There is a show being planned by UNR students for the campus. Rumor has it that the project is stalled due to in-fighting among the committee members. What are they fighting over? The Vitriolics of course. It seems the committee is divided into 2 groups, those who want the Vits and those who DON'T!

11/2 After a rousing performance, Blackie was seen sharing a cigarette with a girl who claims she reached the BIG O from the vibrations of his bass on the seat on which she was sitting............ And it wasn't even ladies night!

10/27 Looks like there was a return trip to S.F. for El Rio's Lesbian Saturday. Not 1 but 2 Vits were spotted tipping back a Jack and Coke and eating cookies in the San Fran hot spot. Not that kind of cookie, get your mind out of the gutter.

9/29 Which Vit spent a day of HELL traveling between restrooms throughout Vegas suffering the after effects of having eaten a tongue burrito at 3am covered in hot sauce? This after a night of total debauchery at the Las Vegas Shakedown. NIIIIIICE!

9/14 What Vit showed up for a photo session with a photographer from the Reno News & Review, not only late but covered in chicken shit? Yep, you guessed it.

9/8 A Vit was seen receiving an impromtu lap dance after their performance at Fallon's Jive'n'Java Coffee house.Lap dancing in a coffee house? How stimulating.

7/30 A Vitriolic was spotted sipping a Long Island Ice Tea in a dark corner of San Francisco's EL RIO club on "Lesbian Saturday." "I'm just here to see the band." He was heard to say. The bands playing that night were THE HELL BROTHERS, THE SUPER BEES, and THE DEMONICS.

7/24 Which member recently woke to find himself sleeping in a bed soaked with urine? To make things more interesting let me tell you that the offending liquid was not his own!
